Tenth Doctor: Planet of the Ood

planetood

Writer: Keith Temple

Director: Graeme Harper

Producer: Phil Collinson

Series: 4, ep 3

Companion: Donna Noble (Catherine Tate)

Summary: The Doctor takes Donna to a planet in the year 4126, where the Ood are revolting against slave trade.

Review: This was a great sequel to “The Impossible Planet”. Donna was excellent. I liked how she was starting to have second thoughts about travelling with the Doctor. The man in charge of the slave trade was a great villain.  The ending still creeps me out every time I see it.

Continuity: The Doctor refers to being unable to save the Ood in “The Impossible Planet”. The Seventh Doctor encountered a giant brain in the episode “Time and the Rani”. This is the first episode that we hear of the prophecy of Ood Sigma, who tells the Doctor that his song is ending soon..
