Writer: George Mann
Narrator: William Russell
Director: Nicholas Briggs
Doctor: 1st
Companions: Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright, Susan
Note: The “Short Trips” series are collections of stories that are narrated rather than performed. They are shorter than the average Big Finish drama, which usually run between an hour and 2 1/2 hours. They are sold as anthologies, however, I’m reviewing each story individually.
Summary: After a trip to the French Revolution, the TARDIS lands on an unnamed planet, encountering what could be described as centaurs. The planet’s timeframe moves faster than Ian’s and the Doctors, but they can only stand by and watch as it rises, prospers, and eventually dies out. They are even revered as gods by the centaurs.
Review: I found this story had a fascinating concept. The Doctor could not intervene, but could only observe. Seeing the centaurs’ society go through all its stages of development was cool.
Overall Review: 8/10
