Writer: Neil Cross
Director: Jamie Payne
Producer: Marcus Wilson
Companion: Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman)
Series: 7, episode 9
Summary: The Doctor and Clara help ghost-hunters searching for the Witch of the Well.
Review: As I said in my review of “Cold War”, many of the episodes in Series 7 were written as tributes to Doctor Who’s history. This episode is another one, paying tribute to Phillip Hinchcliffe’s tenure as producer during Tom Baker’s era. During his tenure, Hinchcliffe specialized in Gothic horror. I’m kind of disappointed that Neil Cross only wrote two episodes for Doctor Who, because I’d love to see him come back. This was one of the best episodes of Series 7.
Overall Review: 9/10
Continuity: The Cloister Bell rings again. It first rang in “Logopolis”. The Doctor uses a crystal from Metebelis III, which he first acquired in “The Green Death”. This episode is a parallel to “Ghost Light”, as both took place in haunted houses. The TARDIS once again rejects Clara.
