Twelfth: Eaters of Light

eaters of lightWriter: Rona Munro

Director: Charles Palmer

Producer: Nikki Wilson

Companions: Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie) and Nardole (Matt Lucas)

Series: 10, ep. 10

Summary: The Doctor, Bill, and Nardole are in the days of ancient Rome, when the Romans were invading Britain. They are in search of the Ninth Roman Legion. The Legion is battling beings known as the Eaters of Light.

Review: I was keenly interested in this story, as Rona Munro wrote the last Classic Doctor Who story, “Survival”. (By the way, I plan on reviewing “Survival” next week!)

The atmosphere of the story was well-presented. Murray Gold once again composed a great score.

My only real gripe is it was  abit slow. Not the best, but entertaining.

Overall: 7/10

Continuity: The Doctor has met centurions before, in “The Romans” and “The Pandorica Opens”. Like many companions before her, Bill is surprised to learn that the TARDIS translates her language into Latin and the Roman’s language into English.
