Review: Before I go any further, I want to say that I’m not a “big” fan of this show, but I did enjoy it enough to watch both seasons and its five-part finale “Children of Earth”. I happen to own the first season, and BBC America aired a marathon so I figured since I’ve already reviewed Class and some of Big Finish’s spin-offs, so I thought why not add it to the queue?

OK, that’s out of the way, so let’s talk about this pilot. I think it’s a great way to start the series. Gwen Cooper is a good POV character, and the episode kind of parallels “Rose”, the first episode for the Ninth Doctor. She’s a good audience surrogate, and having a new character join a team that’s already established is a good formula to use.

Overall Review: 10/10
