Summary: A parasite is using a woman to kill with sex.
Review: This would be a good time to explain a term I coined because of this show: “Torchwood Syndrome”. This episode illustrates what I mean by that term: Too much emphasis on sex and gore (the previous episode was the gore), and not enough on story. I don’t mind sex in shows like Game Of Thrones, because the source material was pretty heavy on it anyway, and besides, it helps the story. Here, it doesn’t. It stands out and ruins the story because it’s such a ridiculous premise. I realize Torchwood is meant for an older audience than Doctor Who, but being “adult” doesn’t mean you need to overload the sex and violence. If you want a good example of what I mean, go read Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comics he wrote for DC’s Vertigo imprint. He handles the material in a mature way, and it helps the story. He actually does have restraint, and has even written stories for children.
Anyway, this story was a silly one. One of the worst episodes of the series. Just so you know, there are some episodes I like.
